Hike #39 - Big Tree Trail, Oregon Caves National Monument, Oregon

We visited Oregon Caves National Park in early August, 2015.  After arriving at the park for the cave tour, we had a 2 1/2 hour wait so we decided to hike this trail.  The "Big Tree" is the widest girth Douglas Fir tree in Oregon.  The trail makes a 3.3 mile loop through beautiful forest, mountain meadows and is quite steep in some places.  There is a nice restaurant in the park with a good variety of food so we had time to grab lunch before the cave tour.  The cave tour was quite interesting and enjoyable.
