2015 Hike #65 - Lake Agnes Teahouse, at Lake Louise and Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada

Lake Agnes Tea Hous
As part of our week long visit to Banff National Park in July of 2015, we hiked to the historic Lake Agnes Tea House.  The popular trail is 4.4 miles RT and has an elevation gain of 1312'.  It leads through a beautiful forest with stunning views of Lake Louise.  Lake Agnes was named after Lady Susan Agnes Macdonald who was the wife of the first prime minister of Canada.  Just before reaching the tea house, we stopped to view a smaller lake called Mirror Lake.  The elevation at Lake Agnes is 7005'.  The tea house has no electricity or running water and all fresh food is packed up daily by staff.  Supplies are flown in by helicopter at the beginning of the season.  The tea house features over 100 loose leaf teas plus home made soups, sandwiches, cookies, apple crumb and more.
